In Memory of Neeltje van der Ven

In Memory of Neeltje van der Ven

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Neeltje van der Ven, our aunt and former co-owner of Vanderven Oriental Art. Together with her husband Clemens van der Ven, she was instrumental in building the foundation of the company we are today. Her enormous passion for Chinese ceramics - as well as antiques, art and historic interiors - were a driving force in her life and gave her great pleasure.

Neeltje and Clemens shared a vision that extended beyond their business. Together, they turned their beautiful historic house in ‘s-Hertogenbosch - 'Huizinghe De Loet’-  into a foundation dedicated to preserving its history, the garden and the incredible collection for future generations. Their specific intention was that their legacy should continue to inspire and educate.

Neeltje passed away peacefully on June 21, after a period of illness. She leaves us with wonderful memories of her warmth, knowledge, and her deep appreciation for art and history. She will be profoundly missed by her family, friends and all who were touched by her remarkable spirit.

We would very much welcome your memories and images of Neeltje. If you would like to share them with us, please email floris@vanderven.com
